Which Stardew Valley Farm should I choose?
I’m always torn between playing the Meadowlands Farm or the Four-Corners one in Stardew Valley. While the latter let's you enjoy the 4 farms at once (Standard, Forest, Fishing/Pond, Mining/Hilltop), it looks disjointed and the pond is too small. So in this playthrough, Golden Pups Farm is an animal-focused blue-grass space - all that space for my chickens, cows, ... and of course my farm dog, Chewbacca!![]() | |
| Meadowlands farm. I really like that river - sorry Four-Corners farm! |
My first “holiday“ is the Egg Festival which happens on the 13. Spring. I only learned that Pierre the shop-owner can actually be talked to be walking behind his store/house. Oh well, I’ll try that again next in-game year!
Make sure to save some money to buy Strawberry Seeds, which can be purchased for 100g a pop but only during the Festival!
After the Egg Hunt, I encountered my first skill path divergence. I chose Tiller despite my Meadowlands farm. I just love planting, cooking and making Artisan stuff. In real life, I grew my own spices and have made my own Pesto once. Also Mayonnaise - that one I do not recommend, make them in Stardew Valley only!
Remember that you can change your "profession" near the end game.
Mushroom or Bat Cave?
Summer is approaching and so is Demetrius with another critical choice. In my 10 previous playthroughs, I always choose to get a steady supply of Mushrooms since I had a hard time getting them. In the most recent game update, we can build Mushroom Logs for that. The Bat Cave does not give you a superhero - but it does give you a chance to get higher quality fruits, hence my choice!
...still playing...
